  • Buying Viagra with My Visa Card in South Africa: A 45-Year-Old Man’s Story

45 years old south africaners on the beach of Durban

By the time I turned forty-five, I had learned two things about life.

    First, confidence matters.

Second, modern medicine has accomplished things that previous generations could only imagine.

I live in South Africa, where vibrant cities, busy nightlife, and people from every corner of the world create an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. My work often keeps me traveling between Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban, and I enjoy an active social life. I regularly meet companions through legal escort agencies, and maintaining my confidence has become important to me. When my doctor diagnosed me with erectile dysfunction, I decided to look for an evidence-based treatment rather than rely on questionable supplements or miracle cures.

That search led me to Viagra.

A Remarkable Story in Medical History

The history of Viagra is one of the most fascinating stories in pharmaceutical science.

Scientists originally investigated sildenafil as a treatment for heart disease. During clinical trials in the 1990s, however, researchers noticed that many participants experienced a completely unexpected effect—improved erectile function.

Rather than ignoring the discovery, scientists investigated it thoroughly.

The result was Viagra, introduced in 1998, becoming the world’s first widely available oral treatment for erectile dysfunction.

    It changed men’s health forever.

Millions of patients suddenly had access to a medication supported by rigorous clinical research rather than myths or unproven remedies.

    Speaking with My Doctor

Like many men, I was initially reluctant to discuss erectile dysfunction.

I exercised regularly, maintained a healthy weight, and generally considered myself fit.

Yet stress, long work hours, and simply getting older had started affecting my performance.

My physician explained that erectile dysfunction is extremely common and may result from many factors, including stress, cardiovascular health, diabetes, high blood pressure, certain medications, or age-related changes.

After reviewing my medical history and confirming that Viagra was appropriate for me, he explained how it works and what to expect.

    Understanding the Science

Viagra contains sildenafil, a medication classified as a PDE5 inhibitor.

During sexual stimulation, the body naturally releases nitric oxide, leading to increased production of cyclic GMP, a molecule that relaxes smooth muscle and improves blood flow.

The PDE5 enzyme normally breaks down cyclic GMP.

By temporarily blocking that enzyme, Viagra helps support the body’s natural erectile response during sexual stimulation.

One thing my doctor emphasized was that Viagra does not increase sexual desire or create an automatic erection. It simply helps the body’s normal physiological mechanisms function more effectively when appropriate stimulation is present.

Buying Viagra Online in South Africa

These days, ordering prescription medications has become much more convenient.

    viagra in South Africa

When I purchase Viagra through a licensed online pharmacy, I appreciate how simple and secure the process is.

I usually pay using my Visa card.

The transaction is fast, encrypted, and convenient, allowing me to manage my purchases without unnecessary complications. Using a trusted pharmacy gives me confidence that I am receiving authentic medication rather than counterfeit products, which unfortunately remain a concern on the internet.

For me, the combination of professional medical advice, a reputable pharmacy, and secure Visa payment makes the entire process straightforward.

    Confidence Matters

My social life is active, and I often spend evenings meeting companions through licensed escort services.

For me, Viagra is not about excess or trying to relive my twenties.

    It is about confidence.

Knowing that an effective treatment is available allows me to relax instead of worrying about performance anxiety. Ironically, reducing that anxiety has often been just as valuable as the medication itself.

    Safety Comes First

Over the years, I have also learned that responsible use is essential.

Viagra is a prescription medicine, not a recreational product.

I always follow my doctor’s instructions regarding dosage and timing.

Like any medication, it may cause side effects, including headache, facial flushing, nasal congestion, indigestion, or dizziness. Fortunately, my experience has been positive, with only occasional mild flushing.

My physician also explained that Viagra should never be combined with nitrate medications and that individuals with certain cardiovascular conditions require careful medical evaluation before treatment.

That advice reinforced an important lesson: successful treatment begins with professional healthcare, not internet myths.

More Than Just a Blue Pill

Looking back, I realize that Viagra represents much more than a pharmaceutical innovation.

It transformed how men discuss their health.

Today, conversations about erectile dysfunction are increasingly open, allowing many men to receive treatment not only for sexual health concerns but also for underlying conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular disease that erectile dysfunction may help uncover.

    My Final Thoughts

At forty-five, I no longer believe that asking for medical help is a sign of weakness.

    Quite the opposite.

Choosing evidence-based treatment, consulting qualified healthcare professionals, and purchasing medication from reputable pharmacies are decisions based on common sense.

Viagra has earned its reputation through decades of scientific research and extensive clinical experience. It remains one of the best-known treatments for erectile dysfunction because it has consistently demonstrated effectiveness and safety when prescribed appropriately.

Whether I am traveling across South Africa for business or enjoying my personal life, I appreciate having a treatment I can trust and the convenience of securely purchasing it through a licensed pharmacy using my Visa card.

For me, confidence is not about pretending to be younger.

It is about taking care of my health, making informed decisions, and enjoying life with the support of modern medicine.

  • Levitra vs. Viagra: A Perspective on Two Landmark Treatments for Erectile Dysfunction

For more than three decades, I have followed the remarkable evolution of men’s health treatments. During that time, I have seen medicine transform erectile dysfunction from a topic many patients were embarrassed to discuss into one of the best-understood and most effectively treated conditions in modern urology.

    Doctor recommends Levitra

Among all the therapies introduced over the past quarter-century, two names consistently stand out: Viagra (sildenafil) and Levitra (vardenafil). Both medications have helped millions of men worldwide regain confidence, improve intimate relationships, and seek medical care for underlying health conditions that might otherwise have remained undiagnosed.

Although these medications belong to the same therapeutic class, each possesses unique characteristics that may make it more suitable for certain patients. Understanding their history, mechanism of action, and clinical differences allows patients and healthcare professionals to make informed decisions together.

The Birth of a New Era in Men’s Health

The modern history of erectile dysfunction treatment changed dramatically during the 1990s.

Scientists developing sildenafil were originally researching a treatment for cardiovascular disease. During clinical studies, researchers observed an unexpected but highly significant effect: many participants experienced improved erectile function. This discovery redirected the course of development, and in 1998 Viagra became the first oral PDE5 inhibitor approved for erectile dysfunction.

Its approval represented far more than the launch of a new medication.

For the first time, millions of men had access to a scientifically validated, non-surgical treatment that addressed one of the most common male health concerns. The success of Viagra also encouraged greater public awareness, reducing stigma and encouraging patients to seek professional medical advice.

A few years later, Levitra entered clinical practice. Developed with the benefit of additional research into PDE5 inhibition, vardenafil expanded the range of treatment options available to physicians and patients.

Competition between these therapies ultimately benefited patients by providing multiple effective choices.

    Understanding Erectile Dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction is the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual activity.

Contrary to common belief, erectile dysfunction is not simply a consequence of aging.

    It may result from:

    • Cardiovascular disease
    • Diabetes
    • High blood pressure
    • Elevated cholesterol
    • Smoking
    • Obesity
    • Psychological stress
    • Anxiety
    • Depression
    • Certain prescription medications

Because erectile dysfunction can sometimes be an early sign of vascular disease, consultation with a healthcare professional remains an important step before beginning treatment.

    How Viagra and Levitra Work

Both Viagra and Levitra belong to the class of medications known as phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitors.

During sexual stimulation, nitric oxide is released within penile tissue. This initiates the production of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP), which relaxes smooth muscle and increases blood flow.

The PDE5 enzyme naturally breaks down cGMP.

By temporarily inhibiting this enzyme, both medications help maintain higher levels of cGMP, allowing blood vessels to remain relaxed for longer during sexual stimulation.

It is important to emphasize that neither medication creates sexual desire or produces an automatic erection. Sexual stimulation is still necessary for these medications to work.

    Comparing Viagra and Levitra

Although their mechanisms are similar, there are several practical differences.

    viagra vs levitra

    Active Ingredient

    • Viagra contains sildenafil.
    • Levitra contains vardenafil.

    Onset of Action

Both medications typically begin working within approximately 30 to 60 minutes, although individual responses vary.

    Duration

Viagra generally remains effective for about four to six hours.

Levitra offers a similar duration of action for most patients.

    Food Effects

A heavy, high-fat meal may delay the onset of action for either medication, particularly Viagra.

    Clinical Experience

Both medications have accumulated decades of clinical use and extensive research supporting their effectiveness when prescribed appropriately.

    Which Medication Is Better?

One of the most common questions patients ask is:

    “Which one is stronger?”

The answer is not as straightforward as many expect.

Large clinical studies indicate that both medications are effective for many men with erectile dysfunction. Individual responses differ, and one medication may work better than another for a particular patient.

    Factors influencing medication selection include:

    • Medical history
    • Other prescription medications
    • Existing cardiovascular conditions
    • Previous treatment response
    • Personal preferences
    • Potential side effects

Rather than asking which medication is universally superior, physicians generally focus on which treatment is most appropriate for each individual.

    Safety Considerations

Like all prescription medications, Viagra and Levitra can cause side effects.

    Common side effects include:

    • Headache
    • Facial flushing
    • Nasal congestion
    • Indigestion
    • Dizziness

Less common but potentially serious adverse effects require prompt medical attention.

Neither medication should be taken with nitrate medications because the combination may produce a dangerous drop in blood pressure.

Patients with significant cardiovascular disease should consult their healthcare provider before using any medication for erectile dysfunction.

    More Than a Medication

One of the greatest contributions of Viagra and Levitra extends beyond improving erectile function.

These medications helped normalize conversations about men’s health.

Before their introduction, many men silently accepted erectile dysfunction as an inevitable part of aging.

Today, physicians recognize erectile dysfunction as a legitimate medical condition that often deserves evaluation and treatment. In many cases, investigating erectile dysfunction has led to the early diagnosis of diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and other important health conditions.

    A Lasting Medical Legacy

The development of Viagra marked one of the most significant pharmaceutical breakthroughs of the twentieth century. Levitra followed by expanding treatment options and further advancing research into men’s sexual health.

Together, these medications have transformed clinical practice and improved quality of life for millions of patients worldwide.

For individuals experiencing erectile dysfunction, the most effective approach begins with a conversation with a qualified healthcare professional. With an accurate diagnosis, appropriate evaluation, and evidence-based treatment, many men can successfully manage erectile dysfunction and regain confidence in their intimate lives.

The history of Viagra and Levitra demonstrates how decades of scientific research, rigorous clinical trials, and continued innovation have produced therapies that remain among the most important advances in modern men’s health.

  • A funny fact about Cialis

Do you know why Cialis is sometimes called the “weekend pill”?

    Cialis 20mg

Because its effects can last up to 36 hours. And this has given rise to many funny stories.

One man (let’s call him Andrew, 42) took Cialis on a Friday evening, thinking “just in case—maybe I’ll need it.” He had no romantic plans, by the way—he just wanted to test the drug.

As a result, Saturday passed quietly. Sunday, too.

But on Monday morning, he suddenly realized that the effects were still potentially lingering. He told his friends:

“The funniest thing isn’t the effect. The funniest thing is the feeling that your body is in 24/7 alert mode, and you’re just going to a meeting at 9 a.m.”

Of course, everything went well, but he’s since joked:

Cialis is like a vacation.” You may not take advantage of every opportunity, but it’s nice to know they’re there.”

    Interesting scientific fact

Unlike some other medications, Cialis (tadalafil) lasts longer because it has a longer half-life—about 17.5 hours. This is why it allows for a more spontaneous approach, without being tied to a strict time schedule.

This is precisely why many men love it—less planning, more naturalness.

  • A New Chapter: David’s Story of using Cialis

    Cialis success story

David was 46 when he first noticed it. It wasn’t sudden — not some dramatic moment of failure — but a quiet, creeping change. He’d wake up tired more often, his work as a project manager drained him, and intimacy with his wife, Laura, had slowly faded from something passionate to something tentative. They both loved each other deeply, but there was a new silence in their marriage — the kind that grows when you stop talking about what really matters.

David and his story of usning Cialis

At first, David blamed stress, late nights, even the extra ten pounds he’d put on. But when the pattern continued — when he started to avoid intimacy altogether — he realized it wasn’t going away on its own. One night, after another awkward, unfinished attempt, Laura reached out, took his hand, and said softly:

    “Let’s fix this together.”

    That was the turning point.

    The Conversation

A week later, David was sitting in his doctor’s office, heart pounding harder than he wanted to admit.
Dr. Patel, a calm and compassionate man in his fifties, listened carefully before explaining:

“Erectile dysfunction isn’t unusual, David. It can be physical, psychological, or both. The good news is, it’s treatable.”

He discussed several options — lifestyle changes, therapy, and medication. That’s when David first heard about Cialis, known generically as tadalafil. Unlike the “take-it-right-before” pills he’d read about, Cialis could last up to 36 hours, earning it the nickname “the weekend pill.”

“It’s not just about performance,” Dr. Patel added. “It’s about confidence. When you stop worrying about timing, you can focus on connection.”

David left the office with a prescription — and a flicker of hope.

    The First Time

    tadalafil

The first weekend he tried Cialis, he didn’t tell Laura. He wanted it to feel natural.
He took one 10 mg tablet in the morning, went about his day, and felt… normal.
No racing heart, no dizziness, no fireworks — just a quiet readiness, like his body remembered something it had forgotten.

That evening, as they curled up on the couch watching an old movie, David felt relaxed, not pressured. When Laura leaned in to kiss him, it wasn’t a test — it was a moment. And this time, everything worked, effortlessly.

Afterward, lying together, Laura whispered with a smile,

    “You seem like yourself again.”

He hadn’t realized how much he’d missed that — not just the intimacy, but the confidence that came with it.

    Rediscovering Connection

Over the next few months, Cialis became part of David’s routine — not a crutch, but a quiet helper. Sometimes he’d take it a few times a week; sometimes not at all. What changed more than anything was his mindset.

He started exercising again, cut down on alcohol, and talked openly with Laura about what they both wanted. The fear and embarrassment that had shadowed him were gone.

By spring, they had planned their first romantic getaway in years — not to “fix” anything, but to celebrate feeling close again.

    Reflections

David often thought about how simple the solution had been. Cialis didn’t magically change his life — it gave him back the confidence to take control of it. It reminded him that intimacy wasn’t just about sex, but about feeling connected, capable, and alive.

And in that quiet rediscovery, he learned something deeper:

Sometimes, asking for help isn’t weakness. It’s the start of getting your strength back.

  • Alcohol and Levitra: What a 40-Year-Old Italian Man Should Know

Imagine Marco, a 40-year-old man from Rome. Like many in his age group, he occasionally enjoys a glass of red wine with dinner. Recently, his doctor prescribed him Levitra (vardenafil), a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED). Marco wonders: Is it safe to mix a little wine with this treatment?

This question isn’t unique to Marco. Men across the world face the same concern. To answer it, let’s break down the science in clear, practical terms.

    levitra and alcohol

    What Levitra Does

Levitra belongs to a class of drugs called PDE5 inhibitors, similar to Viagra and Cialis. Its job is simple but powerful:

    • It helps relax blood vessels in the penis.
    • This relaxation improves blood flow, making it easier to achieve and maintain an erection.
    • It only works when a man is sexually stimulated — it’s not an aphrodisiac.

In short: Levitra boosts the body’s natural response, rather than creating it from scratch.

What Alcohol Does to the Body

Alcohol, especially in larger amounts, affects the cardiovascular system:

    • It lowers blood pressure.
    • It slows down the central nervous system.
    • It may reduce sensitivity and performance in sexual situations.

A small glass of wine may feel relaxing, but heavier drinking can reduce sexual function — the very issue Levitra is meant to solve.

    When Alcohol and Levitra Meet

    Here’s where the problem starts:

    • Both alcohol and Levitra cause vasodilation (widening of blood vessels).
    • When combined, this effect can lead to too much blood pressure drop, resulting in dizziness, fainting, headaches, or even heart strain.
    • Alcohol also interferes with the effectiveness of Levitra, making erections less reliable.

For Marco, this means that the romantic evening with wine could backfire — the combination may make the medication less effective while also causing unpleasant side effects.

    Scientific Evidence

Clinical studies and patient reports suggest:

    • Moderate drinking (a glass of wine or beer) is usually safe for most healthy men, but the benefits of Levitra may still be reduced.
    • Heavy drinking (multiple glasses or spirits) increases the risks significantly.
    • Long-term alcohol use also contributes to chronic erectile dysfunction, making ED medications less useful.

Practical Advice for Men Like Marco

    Levitra for italian man
    • A small glass of wine with dinner is unlikely to be dangerous, but don’t expect Levitra to work at its best.
    • Avoid heavy drinking when planning to use the medication.
    • Always follow medical advice — individual health conditions (like high blood pressure or heart disease) may change the risk level.
    • When in doubt, it’s safer to skip the alcohol.

    Mixing Levitra and alcohol

For a 40-year-old Italian man — or anyone else — mixing Levitra and alcohol is not forbidden, but it’s far from ideal. Levitra is designed to improve sexual performance, while alcohol can undermine it and add risks.

Marco’s best bet? Enjoy his glass of Chianti on another night and keep the focus on intimacy when using Levitra.

  • Buying Erectile Dysfunction Pills in Australia

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common condition affecting many men. While it can be a sensitive issue, there are many effective treatments available, including prescription medications such as sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), and vardenafil (Levitra). In Australia, these medications can be purchased with a prescription from a licensed healthcare practitioner, such as a doctor.

    Erectile Dysfunction Pills in Australia

    Prescription Medications

If you have been diagnosed with ED and have a prescription, you can have the prescription filled at a community pharmacy. Community pharmacies are privately owned and operated, and they offer a range of products and services, including prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, and health supplements.

When purchasing ED medication with a prescription, you can either pay for the medication in full or use a government-subsidized scheme, such as the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). The PBS provides financial assistance to eligible patients to help them pay for prescription medications. The amount of assistance you receive will depend on your individual circumstances and the type of medication you are taking.
    Online Retailers

purchasing ED medication is through online retailers

Another option for purchasing ED medication is through online retailers. Many online retailers offer prescription medications, including ED medications, with the option to have a consultation with a licensed healthcare practitioner. This can be a convenient option for those who live in remote areas or who have difficulty visiting a doctor in person.

However, it is important to be cautious when purchasing medication from online retailers, as not all online pharmacies are legitimate. To ensure that you are purchasing medication from a reputable source, it is important to check that the online retailer is registered with the Australian Government’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and that the medication is approved for use in Australia.

    Conclusion

Purchasing ED medication in Australia can be a straightforward process with the right information and support. Whether you choose to purchase your medication through a community pharmacy or an online retailer, it is important to consult with a licensed healthcare practitioner and ensure that you are purchasing medication that is safe, effective, and appropriate for your needs. With the right treatment, you can regain your confidence and enjoy a healthy and fulfilling sexual life.

  • Purchasing Medications in New Zealand

New Zealand has a comprehensive healthcare system that provides access to a wide range of medicines for its citizens. However, the process of purchasing medications in New Zealand can be confusing for those unfamiliar with the system. This article will provide an overview of the different ways to purchase medications in New Zealand and the key considerations to keep in mind when doing so.
    Prescription Medications

    new zealand pharmacies

Prescription medications can only be purchased with a prescription from a licensed healthcare practitioner, such as a doctor, nurse practitioner, or dentist. Once you have a prescription, you can have it filled at a pharmacy. Most pharmacies in New Zealand are community pharmacies, which are privately owned and operated. They offer a range of products and services, including prescription and over-the-counter medications, health supplements, and other health-related items.

If you have a prescription, you can either pay for the medication in full or use a government-subsidized scheme, such as the Community Services Card (CSC) or the High Use Health Card (HUHC). The CSC and HUHC schemes provide financial assistance to eligible patients to help them pay for prescription medications. The amount of assistance you receive will depend on your individual circumstances and the type of medication you are taking.
    Over-the-Counter Medications

    pharmacy

Over-the-counter (OTC) medications are medications that can be purchased without a prescription. They are usually used for the treatment of common illnesses and symptoms, such as headaches, colds, and flu. OTC medications are available at most community pharmacies, as well as supermarkets, convenience stores, and online retailers.

When purchasing OTC medications, it is important to read the label and follow the instructions carefully. If you have any concerns or questions about the medication, you should speak to a healthcare professional, such as a pharmacist.
    Importing Medications

In some cases, you may need to import medications from overseas if the medication is not available in New Zealand or if it is significantly cheaper in another country. In order to import medications, you will need to obtain a prescription from a licensed healthcare practitioner and ensure that the medication is legal in New Zealand. You will also need to declare the medication at the border and provide documentation to support its importation.

Before importing a medication, it is important to consider the potential risks and benefits. Importing medications from overseas can be less expensive, but there is a risk of receiving counterfeit or expired medications. Additionally, the safety and quality of the medication may not be guaranteed, as it may not have been tested or approved for use in New Zealand.
    Conclusion

Purchasing medications in New Zealand can be a complex process, but by understanding the different options available, you can ensure that you are getting the best possible care for your needs. Whether you are purchasing prescription or over-the-counter medications, it is important to consult with a healthcare professional and carefully consider the potential risks and benefits of each option. With the right information and support, you can be confident in your decision to purchase the medications you need to maintain your health and well-being.

  • A new way of treating impotence has been found

Researchers from the University of Naples have experimentally confirmed the effectiveness of extracorporeal shock wave therapy in the treatment of erectile dysfunction. According to preliminary research, exposure to wave discharges leads to the growth of fibers of the nerve tissue and blood vessels of the penis. And as you know, as a result of such growth, the functionality of the penis is restored. In the course of a subsequent experiment, the results of the new technique were compared with the effect obtained from taking known drugs against impotence.

    erectile dysfunction problems

The participants in the experiment were 156 men with erectile dysfunction, as well as with type 2 diabetes, a frequent companion of problems with potency. All volunteers were given Cialis for 12 weeks, and half of them also received 6 sessions of shock wave therapy lasting 20 minutes for three weeks.

    View Post

With the average age of the participants in the experiment 57 years, the degree of erectile dysfunction in them was determined using a special scale. Initially, both groups showed improvement, but later it turned out that only the group of men who were simultaneously treated with sound waves could achieve maximum progress. Thus, the result of six sessions using 2,400 energy pulses into the penile area surpassed the effect of the tablets themselves.

  • Priapism: Long Doesn’t Mean Good!

Priapism reflects a pathological erection that occurs without sexual arousal. Priapism is based on the enhancement of blood circulation in the penis, as well as the innervation of the corresponding muscles and tendons. Undoubtedly, a good erection is considered an integral part of men’s health, but priapism is another matter! Pathology is very exhausting, disrupting the quality of life of a man, accompanied by excruciating pain, emotional exhaustion, and the formation of a number of complexes.

    priapism

What types of disease are there?
Priapism can occur for various reasons and have varying degrees of severity. It is the type of pathology that will determine the tactics of treatment.
    Arterial priapism
This is the mildest form of the disease, and the cause is increased blood flow to the penis area. As a result of the accumulation of blood, an erection appears, but it is not pronounced, mostly painless and can go away on its own.
    Ischemic type
A severe type of disease in which the process of venous outflow from the penis has clear signs of impairment. This may be due to blood clots or an increase in blood viscosity. Erection with ischemic priapism is persistent, accompanied by severe pain, complications may develop.
    Nocturnal priapism
This type of disease is characterized by involuntary erection at night, all accompanied by pain and a feeling of stiffness in the perineum. With nocturnal priapism, the man wakes up several times during the night. Attacks can appear even during daytime sleep.
Normally, a man may have short-term episodes of nocturnal erections, but they are painless and do not cause sleep disturbances.
What are the causes of priapism?
In modern medicine, there are more than a hundred factors that can provoke the development of this disease. Doctors identify the main ones that really have clinical significance:

    • diseases of the blood system (anemia, leukemia);
    • trauma to the pelvis, penis and perineum;
    • injuries and diseases of the spine, central nervous system;
    • malignant and some benign neoplasms;
    • chronic and acute intoxication;
    • long-term use of antidepressants, tranquilizers;
    • abuse of psychostimulating substances, tea and coffee, energy drinks;
    • drugs that temporarily increase potency (for example, Viagra).
What are the signs of priapism?
Naturally, the main diagnostic criterion is considered to be an unreasonable prolonged erection (more than 60 s), which is repeated several times. There are also the following symptoms that suggest priapism:
    • no orgasm and ejaculation;
    • erection can be very long, sometimes permanent;
    • the shaft of the penis can be hard, but the glans can be soft;
    • an erection is accompanied by soreness, irradiation to the perineum and thigh;
    • there may be cyanosis and redness of the genital organ;
    • urination is not disturbed.
What is the treatment of priapism, how to provide first aid for this pathology?
Naturally, a man who has noticed unpleasant symptoms in himself should consult an andrologist as soon as possible. Treatment tactics will depend on the type of disease. In the acute phase, experts recommend applying cold to the penis, performing a few simple exercises such as squats and leg raises. An attack of nocturnal priapism can be stopped by applying cold or urinating. If the erection has not disappeared, you should call an ambulance, as urgent help from a surgeon may be required.
Ischemic priapism is treated surgically by draining excess blood away from the penis by additional veins. Priapism of the arterial type is treated conservatively – massage, taking a number of sedatives, as well as drugs that normalize metabolic reactions.
What are the consequences of priapism?
If the blood flow in the penis is disturbed for more than 7 hours, irreversible changes in the tissues of the organ may occur, up to their necrosis. The early complications of pathology include inflammation in the penis of the so-called corpora cavernosa. If the problem is ignored for a long time, a shortening of the penis, cavernous fibrosis, and, as a result, a lack of erection can form. Treatment of such a complicated pathology will require a major operation or falloprosthetics. That is why, if you have the slightest suspicion of a pathological erection, you should not delay visiting an andrologist!
  • What is tadalafil or Cialis?

    1. What is Cialis used to treat?
Cialis is approved for the treatment of men who experience difficulty having and maintaining an erection (impotence).
    Cialis
    1. How does Cialis work?
Cialis works by enhancing the effects of one of the chemicals the body normally releases into the penis during sexual arousal. This allows an increase of blood flow into the penis. An erection is the result of an increase in blood flow into certain internal areas of the penis.
    2. How is Cialis different from the currently approved products for erectile dysfunction (ED)?
Cialis is different from other currently approved products for ED in that it stays in the body longer. However, there were no studies that directly compared the clinical efficacy and safety of Cialis to other products.
    3. How do I take Cialis?
Cialis is taken orally before sexual activity, not more than once daily. Cialis may be taken with or without food. In some patients, the dose strength and maximum frequency of use may be adjusted. For more detailed information consult with your health care provider.
    4. Are there any side effects with Cialis?

As with any drug product, there may be side effects. The most commonly reported side effects in patients treated with Cialis during the testing of the product were:

    headache
    indigestion
    back pain
    muscle pain
    flushing
    stuffy nose

Patients who get back pain and muscle aches usually get them 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis and these usually go away by themselves within 48 hours. A small number of patients taking Cialis also reported abnormal vision.

    1. What important information should you know about Cialis? CIALIS can cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly to an unsafe level if it is taken with any nitrate medication. You could get dizzy, faint or have a heart attack or stroke.
Tell your healthcare provider that you take Cialis. If you need emergency medical care for a heart problem, it will be important for your health care provider to know when you last took Cialis.
After taking a single tablet, some of the active ingredient of Cialis remains in your body for more than 2 days. The active ingredient can remain longer if you have problems with your kidneys or liver, or you are taking certain other medications.
Physicians should discuss with patients the potential for CIALIS to augment the blood-pressure-lowering effect of alpha-blockers and antihypertensive medications.
    2. What should I talk to my doctor about when considering if Cialis is right for me?
Because sexual activity can increase the work of the heart, your doctors should talk to you about your heart’s general condition and if Cialis is right for you. Patients who have a condition called “left ventricular outlet obstruction” from valvular problems or heart muscle enlargement may get side effects such as fainting or light-headedness. Because patients with recent heart attacks or stroke, heart pains (angina), heart failure, uncontrolled blood pressure or uncontrolled irregular heart beats, severe liver disease, and retinal eye problems were not studied with Cialis, Cialis is not recommended for these patients. There may be rare occurrences of priapism or painful, prolonged erections. This is a serious condition that requires immediate medical attention. Patients should seek prompt medical attention if their erection lasts longer than four hours.
    3. Who should not take Cialis?
Cialis should not be used by patients taking nitrates (such as nitroglycerin tablets or patches) because the combination of these with Cialis could significantly lower blood pressure and lead to fainting or even death in some men.
    4. Can Cialis be used with other treatments for impotence?
The safety and effectiveness of Cialis when used with other treatments for impotence has not been studied. Combined use could lead to additional lowering of blood pressure, possibly to unsafe levels. Therefore the use of such treatments in combination with Cialis is not recommended.
    5. What if I am taking other drugs?
Always discuss with your health care practitioner ALL of the medications you are taking (prescription and over-the-counter) that way, you can receive the best advice for your own situation. Cialis is not recommended for people taking any form of nitroglycerin because the combination may lower blood pressure to an unsafe level.
    6. How will Cialis be supplied?
Cialis will be available as oral tablets in 5mg, 10mg and 20mg strengths.
    7. Will Cialis be prescription or OTC (over-the-counter)?
Cialis will be available by prescription only.
    8. When will Cialis be available to pharmacies?
FDA has no control over when products are available in pharmacies after FDA approval for marketing. The decision of availability is completely up to the company marketing the product. For further information contact your pharmacist or Eli Lilly and Company directly.
    9. How can I report a serious side effect with Cialis to FDA?

FDA encourages anyone aware of a serious side effect, including consumers or patients, to make a MedWatch report.

You can report an adverse event either online, by regular mail or by fax, using the contact information at the bottom of this page.
